Good Reports

andy_wibbels.gifYou May Not Know Me, But This Guy Does

In the "what a doll!" department: here's a beautiful testimonial good buddy Andy Wibbels, author of BlogWild: A Guide To Small Business Blogging , sent to his newsletter list on the debut of Everyday Bliss For Busy Women.

"Maryam's an expert on the full palette of energy and healing practices and is always my go-to when I need the low-down on the latest techniques to bubble up from the spiritual and new age underground. She's traveled through every spiritual tradition I can think of and is an expert at cooking things down to their easiest graspable essence. On a personal level, she's one of my own fellow travelers as we've built our businesses in parallel together (and a long-time blogger to boot!). Plus, she's just a freakin' gem."

Thanks Andy, right back at'cha, buddy!

(Hey Gents! What I write about is good for you too!)
Cool

Here's How We Did
At Amazon.com:

thumb_endofday-no.142-in-books.png As of midnight on 5/2/2008, Everyday Bliss was listed at #2 in Women's Health at Amazon.com, and at #5 in Personal Transformation, and #142 in all Books sitewide, up from 8,978 at the start of its premiere day 24 hours earlier.

It's worthwhile to note that EDB's "neighbors" in the category of Personal Transformation included above me at #4, Dale Carnegie's venerable "How To Win Friends and Influence People" and below in 6th position, Eckhart Tolle's current Oprah's Book Club choice, "A New Earth".

I don't at all mind being at the feet of Dale Carnegie, and gobsmacked to be above Eckhart. What blows me away is that for a few minutes in time at least, my book was thought to be at least as significant as these great works. Bless me!

The Unique Difference
A Comparison Chart

In a regular coaching session, the Professional Performance Coach works with you in identifying, clarifying, and achieving your personal and business goals and aspirations, and assists you through addition of resources, in achieving them.

The approach is focused upon supportive and challenging inquiry rather than providing a ready-made behavioral model, so you can create your own solutions to issues and design your work and personal life in the way that fits best for you.

Coaching sessions usually last forty-five minutes to an hour a week, three or four times a month, and are most often conducted by phone.

How is Energy Coaching different from consulting or therapy?

Consulting, coaching, and psychotherapy share a lot of common ground. All three focus on helping people make changes and accomplish goals that really matter to them. Energy Coaching in addition provides both client and coach with extraordinarily effective tools for lasting transformative change.

Tools used by the Energy Coach include those that affect the energy in the body's meridians, or lines of energy that run up and down the body and are named for the organs they pass through. This system originated in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and it is the acupoints themselves that are stimulated though not by needles, but gentle tapping, warming or holding of the points in a prescribed sequence. There is also a category of what are called "intentional methods" which utilize the power of intention and focus found in the subconscious mind. These methods do not use touch or points, one is based on the interplay of neurology and language, and another uses a healing program that embeds a cue word of the person's choice for use any time they wish to remove problems or cement success into place. With many companion methods and "quick shot" remedies for energy imbalance being taught, the client tends to be much more healthy in body, mind and spirit than the average coaching, consulting or therapy client.

There can be a fair amount of crossover between the coaching, consulting and therapy. There are consultants and therapists who use coaching skills and strategies as a basic part of their practice. There are coaches (particularly Energy Coaches) who have backgrounds as consultants or therapists who integrate those skills into their coaching. However, there is a different feel and focus to each of these three disciplines. They are different ways of working, and each has its own special value.

Caveat: Consulting, coaching, and psychotherapy, when they are at their best, are complex, challenging endeavors, with a depth and richness that matches the depth and richness of the human experience. As there are a wide range of practices in all three fields, what follows are generalizations which are intended to be indicative rather than definitive.
